Description

The Evolution SC Tension Unloader Valve provides a means of equalizing tubing and annulus pressures when used with a tension packer. It also serves as a by-pass to allow fluid to pass though the mandrel of the packer while running the tubing string in and out of the well.

Operation

The SC Tension Unloader is usually run with the 32-A Packer. The unloader equalizes tubing/annulus pressure differential so the packer can be pulled or moved and reset. It also provides a by-pass that allows fluid to flow through the packer mandrel when running in or retrieving, minimizing the swabbing effect of the packing elements.

The collet design requires substantial force to open or close, so it remains open when running or retrieving. Once the tool is closed it remains closed until sufficient compression forces it open. The tool is full opening, therefore compatible with the 32-A Packer.

NOTE: When running the SC Tension Unloader Valve, always match nominal tubing size of the unloader to the size of tubing run above the unloader and packer.
